Open Museum of Frescoes “Cielo Abierto”
Chile, Valparaiso, Alemania Street 6981
About the company:
The open museum of frescoes “Cielo Abierto” is located in the Chilean city of Valparaiso, famous for its hills and picturesque urban views. Translated into Russian, the name of the museum means “open skies”, which exactly reflects its content.
For four years, students of one of the local universities decorated the walls of their native city with original paintings, which later received the status of a museum. Initially, 20 paintings were painted, but the initiative was supported by other artists, as a result of which the entire surrounding area began to resemble an art gallery. Walls, stairs and pavements in a few years became real masterpieces of painting. Unlike the popular graffiti art in modern cities, the paintings “Cielo Abierto” are real frescoes.
The museum is completely open and free, but if you wish, you can book an individual or group tour and learn all the details about each painting. This is a real paradise for photographers and art lovers who decided to visit this picturesque and welcoming city.
