Wolf Castle
Av. Marina, Vina del Mar, Chile
Description:
Wulf Castle, named after its first owner Gustavo Wolf, is one of the main and frequented tourist attractions of the Chilean city of Viña del Mar.
The history of the castle dates back to 1881, when a German expat entrepreneur came to Chile and in 1904 bought land for the future construction of the house. However, his mansion on the rocks by the water, Gustavo Wulf saw fully finished only four years later. The transformation into a castle occurred in 1917, when the tower was built, which was connected by a bridge to the main building. In 1959, the castle was acquired by the city and later housed the Museum of the Chilean Navy.
Since 1995, Wulf Castle has been designated a National Historic Monument. The amazing beauty of the natural landscape surrounding the castle, its indescribable energy, history and, of course, architecture and interior decoration will surely interest even the discerning tourist-connoisseur.
