Museum of Fine Arts Viña del Mar
Interior Parque Quinta Vergara, Errazuriz, Vina del Mar, Chile
About the company:
The Viña del Mar Museum of Fine Arts is housed in the neo-Gothic Vergara Palace, erected after the devastating earthquake of 1906, for the residence of the wealthy Vergara family. The museum has a collection of classical works from the XVth to the XIXth century, which includes fine works by Rubens and Tintoretto.
All the main schools are represented here: Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch and English. The building passed into the hands of the local municipality in 1941. Thanks to subsequent donations and acquisitions, the museum’s collection has been enriched and can now be called one of the finest art collections in Chile. Another highlight of the palace and museum is the beautiful parquet floor of a complex design.
