Founding Day of Guayaquil in Ecuador

The second largest city in Ecuador – GuayaquilEcuador’s second largest city, Guayaquil, is celebrating its founding day. This event took place in 1537.

Guayaquil or Santiago de Guayaquil is the largest city in Ecuador, located about 250 kilometers southwest of the capital Quito. In fact, Guayaquil is the cultural capital of Ecuador.

Like most holidays, Guayaquil Foundation Day is celebrated en masse and with great enthusiasm. Many street parades and processions, dances, art exhibitions, music and cultural events delight the residents of Guayaquil and guests of the city on this day.
