Day of Simon Bolivar – Liberator in Ecuador
Description:
Bolivar sought to unite all of South America and create a South American United States. To do this, he had to become the sole leader of the struggle against the Spanish. This struggle has produced many heroes. One of them was Jose de San Martin. While Bolivar fought in the north of the continent, San Martin fought for the independence of Argentina and Chile. He was just as popular as Bolivar. After the victory, the allies could easily turn into opponents. But that didn't happen. Instead, there was a meeting in Guayaquil, in memory of which a monument was erected on the city's embankment.
What the two chieftains were talking about is that the Guayaquill Agreement was reached, and San Martin left for France forever, and Bolivar continued his struggle for liberation.
Today’s residents of Guayaquil are little disturbed by historical mysteries. On the embankment, where there is a monument to the liberators, they come this day to walk, have fun, listen to music.
