Christmas in Ecuador, as elsewhere, is celebrated with family. All family and friends gather for a festive dinner, with gifts, cooking turkey.

There is also a very beautiful and ancient Christmas tradition. On Christmas Eve, Indians who live and work in the highlands wear their best clothes, brightly dress llamas and slowly drive to the ranch where their employers live. They bring as a gift fruits and products. The rancher distributes gifts to all his employees and their families. Set them at a festive table with traditional dishes - fried lamb, baked potatoes and brown sweet bread.
