Kayambe volcano

Ecuador, Pichincha province, Kayambe volcano

Description:

The third largest extinct volcano Kayambe, is an integral part of the Andes mountain range. It is located 70 km from the capital of Ecuador Quito in the province of Pichincha almost on the equator line near the city of the same name.

Climbing to the top of the volcano will be an unforgettable adventure. If you move along the southern slope, you can reach the glacier, which is the only snow area among the equatorial mountain range.

From the top of the volcano offers a magnificent view of the Kayambe Koka National Park with its blue mountain lakes and numerous Ecuadorian forests. Another notable fact is the presence of a large number of greenhouses near the Kayambe volcano, in which locals grow roses. It turns out that half of these noble flowers, which are popular among Europeans, come from Ecuador.
