Salina

Salinas Valley

Ecuador, Santa Elena Province, Salinas

Description:

Salinas Valley, located in the south of Ecuador in the province of Santa Elena. It occupies a fairly large area, which is approximately 4.5 thousand square kilometers. It is long – 145 km, but quite narrow – the width is only 32 km. The main city is the famous resort of Salinas.

In the valley, locals, mainly Afro-Ecuadorians and Quechua Indians, cultivate vegetable crops, aided by a humid climate and fertile soil.

In this beautiful place, tourists are provided with more entertainment related to archaeology, art, mountaineering, scuba diving, and can even provide a foray into the jungle.

The valley runs along the coast of the Pacific Ocean, so beach lovers will have a place to walk. The sand on the beaches of Salenas amazes with a variety of colors (black, white, blue), which in the sun creates a fascinating picture. There are numerous thermal mud springs in the valley.
