Walking through the historic streets of Cebu, you will be transported to the golden age of this city. Imagine the majestic Spanish galleons moored in the harbor, loaded with spices, silk and silver, and busy markets where trade with merchants from all over the world took place.
Here, indigenous Filipino traditions and Spanish colonial influences intertwined, creating a unique cultural appearance that has survived to this day. Each stop on our route is a new page in Cebu’s fascinating history.
Excursion route
Magellan's Cross
Our journey will begin with the greatest symbol of the Christianization of the Philippines. The octagonal pavilion with a wooden cross carefully preserves the memory of 1521, when Ferdinand Magellan installed it on this site. Do not forget to raise your eyes – on the ceiling you will find exquisite frescoes depicting the baptism of the first inhabitants of Cebu.
Basilica del Santo Niño
A few steps from the Cross is the oldest Catholic Church in the country. Behind its stone facade is a miraculous statue of the Holy Child - a gift from Magellan to Queen Juana Cebu. The atmosphere of shrine fills the soul with peace and reverence.
Fort San Pedro
The ancient stone walls of this triangular bastion fort hold memories of naval battles and a busy eighteenth-century harbor. Here, among the cannons and bastions, you will feel the breath of history.
Cebu Heritage Monument
The majestic open-air sculptural composition will tell about key events in the history of the city: from the reign of Raja Humabon to the Spanish colonization. This is the animated Cebu chronicle, embodied in bronze and stone.
Chinese Taoist temple
In the prestigious area of Beverly Hills, we will plunge into the atmosphere of ancient China. The miniature Great Wall of China, pagodas, the temple of the White Lotus and sacred rituals that allow you to ask a question of fate, will give a special spiritual impression.
