Merloquet Falls

78 km east of Zamboanga, Sitio Merloquet, Sibulao County, Philippines

Description:

Merloquet Falls is an island of ecotourism and a beautiful natural wonder near the city of Zamboanga, 78 kilometers east of the city, in Sitio Merloquet County of Sibulao, Philippines. Remarkably, this beautiful double waterfall is located on a private property owned by the Gregorio family.

The waterfalls are divided into two cascades, flowing into each other. The lower tier, which is also a larger waterfall, falls from a height of 10 meters with a stream 13 meters wide. The upper waterfall is smaller, it flows into the lower from a height of 5 meters. Its width is 8 meters. It looks like a system of interesting stone formations, through which water flows as if diagonally.

At the bottom of the upper waterfall there is a deep pool in which tourists like to swim. But before that, visitors will have to overcome a 15-minute walk along the path, which will require some physical effort. But you can swim in any part of the pool, being exposed to falling drops from above - they beat slightly, rather making a kind of pleasant "massage".
