Annecy

Annecy from Geneva

Description:

Annecy is a religious anti-Geneva. From the thirties of the XVI century to this day, the Vatican sends the Bishop of Geneva.

In addition to the history of religious confrontation, you will learn (and if you wish, see in the Museum of Lake Annecy) about the existence of fossilized remains of mermaids and much more.

Lake Annecy is deservedly considered the cleanest in Europe. From it flows a river and several canals that adorn the city of Annecy and create a magical and soulful atmosphere.

It is very pleasant to walk along the numerous bridges, look into the shops with curtains, tablecloths, lace made at the local manufactory, sit in cafes and restaurants located along the river.

In addition to the city tour, you can visit:

1. Menton-Saint Bernard Castle, where Saint Bernard was born

2. Gorge of the Fier River and walk along the bridges attached to the vertical rock above the river, in a narrow, picturesque gorge.

3. Secret Gardens created by one local family for each other. At the insistence of friends and neighbors, the hosts showed them to representatives of the Committee on Cultural Heritage of France. Now, this private farm is included in the list of cultural heritage of Savoy.
