Avignon attracts travelers with its atmosphere of antiquity, narrow streets and artistic heritage. The city combines religious monumentality and the intimacy of private collections, so the trip here turns into a series of discoveries: from large expositions to cozy cabinet rooms. For those who love museum trails, Avignon is a great place where each excursion gives a new experience.
The Angladon Museum occupies an important place among local collections: it is a private museum created at the end of the last century by the heirs of the richest collection of works of art. In its halls, paintings, graphics and decorative arts are collected, among which there are rare exhibits and unique funds transferred by a family of collectors. In and around the city you can find other small museums and private collections representing the regional history, archaeology and art of Provence, which gives a rich palette for a variety of excursion routes.
The museum life of Avignon is dynamic: it regularly hosts temporary exhibitions, thematic projects and imported expositions from European collections, as well as educational programs and lectures for the general public. Museum posters change by season, so when planning a trip and excursions, it is recommended to specify the schedule of exhibitions and special events in advance, so as not to miss rare exhibited items and curatorial projects.
Come to Avignon and immerse yourself in its museum atmosphere – this is a great opportunity to expand your understanding of art and history. To make visiting the museum halls as rich and convenient as possible, use the services of private guides: they will help to draw up individual routes, avoid queues and reveal little-known stories of exhibits. Book your tour in advance and turn your trip into a truly memorable event.
