Dear travelers, few people will show you this city and this area, it is still known only for the most sophisticated in traveling along the coast, and I will show you it with great pleasure, because I love the sea and everything associated with it.

Brest, like many cities in France, is a very old city, although when you come here you will never think about it, as it looks very modern. Brest is one of the most persistent cities in France, which has endured many hardships, but as a steadfast sailor, as a ship sailing to meet the unknown and all the winds he survived, transformed. Historians call this city “unbreakable, unruly, proud!”

Brest was already in Celtic times a port, in Roman times a port of Berbers, then a harbor of Bretonnots, Gauls, a Viking fortress, an English bastion, an American city, a German blockhouse, a strategic port during the Cold War, a springboard for scientific and adventurous civil and military expeditions, the cradle of Brittany’s dreams, the battleship of the Admiralty and the epicenter of naval holidays, one of which took place this year.

Brest is a great journey on a stone ship through the storms of history. Every time the dramas of history happened, the recalcitrant Brest would say loudly and aplombly, "No."

The city supports King Henry IV of the century. his desire to reconcile religions during the war of Catholic Protestants, the city becomes the vanguard of the French Revolution, the city against the "white terror" of Robespierre, but also against the "Shuan" - royalists of Brittany. Red Brest established the Popular Front before the war began in 1936. Brest during the Second World War became a stronghold of resistance to the Germans. Here all social strata of the population of France, politicians and clergy, sailors and officers are fighting in resistance. During the economic crisis after the war, Brest became a model of perseverance and it was called the “Indomitable Brest”. Brest is always distinguished in modern times by the freedom-loving spirit, the sea spirit of ships and sailors, always going only forward.

Only here, only ONE time in four years there is a great regatta of the largest ancient sailboats in the world - each time it is an exciting sea trip that is worth it to come here. In July of this year, there were guests at the holiday - the Russian five-masted sailboat Kruzenshtern - home port - Kaliningrad and the frigate Shtandart - home port - St. Petersburg.

Here we can ride with you on a ship in the bay of Brest and see the most beautiful lighthouses of the bay.
