Castle Saint-Brisson

Chateau de Saint-Brisson, 58230 Saint-Brisson, France

Description:

Saint-Brisson Castle is one of the Loire Valley castles listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located in the city of the same name near the river, where the windows of this chic building overlook. Initially, in the XII century, the castle served as a medieval defense fortress, and in the XVI century it was transformed into a residential complex. In 1987 it was transferred to the city authorities and in 1988 it was opened to the public.

Saint-Brisson Castle is built in a hexagonal shape with a diagonal of 150 meters, and from its highest point you can see most of the Loire Valley. During the reconstruction under a residential building, 12 rooms were created in a chic design with a beautiful view of the valley.

Today, various exhibitions and concerts are held in the castle of Saint-Brisson. A historical museum was also created here, where various documents and photographs of those times are presented for all visitors. Entrance to museums is free for children. Another place to visit tourists were the local Gothic cellars.
