Guided Burgundy

Description:

Burgundy is one of the most interesting provinces of France
This province is in the east of France.

Burgundy stretches from north to south and, of course, you can see it well and interestingly, feel its peculiar character only in a few days. Don’t plan for Burgundy for 1 day!

This province deserves more! For 1 day you can visit just a small part of Burgundy, such as the village of wine Chabli, by the name of the wine which is often known. But believe me, Chablis - even if good, but not the best wine of Burgundy!

Burgundy has a fascinating history. The pride and ambition of the independent dukes of Burgundy was so great that their lands were almost a separate state in the French kingdom.

Burgundy is the edge of the history of the brave and brave dukes of Burgundy, who even names have always been associated with epithets of courage and courage: “Charles Le Temerer” – Charles the Brave, “Philippe Le Ardi” – Philip the Bold.

The inhabitants of Burgundy have their own customs and a special character close to the Vikings. The history of the Burgundians comes from Sweden, where there is a certain Burgundenholm.

Burgundy is the richest region of wine and for those who love good wine, it is a real wine paradise!

After all, even Napoleon’s favorite wine was from here, it was Burgundy wine “Chambertin” and he drank it constantly! The wines here are mostly marvelous!!!

Burgundy cheeses are also the pride of this region, you can very easily taste them, "fresh", just brought from the conveyor, where they matured, having stopped on the way to the cheese factory and saw the process of their manufacture. The nature of Burgundy is picturesque landscapes, with beautiful slopes of vineyards, green meadows and white cows peacefully basking in the sun – all as in a live painting by a landscape painter or impressionist.

I can plan a tour of Burgundy for you based on the time you have available.

I will show you the “toy”, as I call it, the town of Osser, in which there are so many old cozy streets, churches that store mysteries, for example – in the same church – a fresco where Christ rides on horseback like a knight and immediately grinning devil on the capitals of the columns, this is an unprecedented scandal – the devil in the cathedral!!! Why? - Let's go find out! Osser is a city of unusual legends, as about the great eccentric Cade Roussel about the well-known preacher of Christianity in France - St. Herman, whose huge abbey is located in Osser. We will look at the once famous and now seemingly small river port of Osser – the Marina quarter.

Then we go to the important city of the province - Dijon. The city of Dijon, the administrative capital of Burgundy and once the capital of the dukes of Burgundy, will impress you with its beautiful and pompous architecture of the palace of the dukes, which has now become a very rich museum, almost the “Bourgundy Louvre”, which is just the tomb of the dukes. The mysterious symbol of this city is a small owl, so a walking tour of the ancient part of the city is called “on the trail of the owl”. I will show you a secret place where you need to rub against a small stone powl, so that your work is immediately completed. From the roof of the tower of Duke Philip the Good you will see a beautiful panorama of the city with its numerous churches and cathedral, on the pediment of which 56 figures depicting human vices. But what about Burgundy without Burgundy wine? Of course, we will go to the real capital of Burgundy wines - this is a small but very cute town - Bon. The cozy streets of Bon are seduced by cute wine boutiques, which are all called nothing but loudly - "wine cellars". To learn the best wines of Burgundy and learn how to understand them, we will look with you to my good friends in a small cellar and listen to the real wine merchants who know this region like no other and they will pour you a lot of wines for tasting. The biggest attraction here is the medieval Bon Hospital, the so-called "Hospices of Bon." There are no colorful roofs like this anywhere in France. Here Burgundian masters truly showed their style and what they are capable of in architecture, the roof can be quite called a “work of art” of local roofers. And of course, not every city can see the interior of a medieval hospital in the best traditions of Burgundy patrons. Burgundy has carefully preserved monuments of the history of the Christian religion. There were many French monastic orders with the most devoted nuns and the most compassionate monastic hospitals, like the Hospices of Bona.

Most of the abbey's architectural complexes, such as the Abbey of Pontiny, have not only been preserved but also restored.

On the way from Burgundy we can approach the divine. I'm going to show you the mountain of Vesele Abbey, very famous among pilgrims. Here in the church are kept the holy relics of Mary Magdalena, it was here that kings and dukes-knights gathered and prayed before leaving for the Crusades!

If the tour is aimed more at gastronomy and wine, then believe me - there is a place to walk! What is the village of Gevreux-Chambertin, where the most delicious wine will offer you my friends winemakers in beautiful wine houses and restaurants overlooking the vineyards! We will look with you at the castle Klovuzho - the abode of the "Order of the Knights of Wine Tryers". You can even become one of its members!

With me, your guide in Burgundy, you will never be bored!
