Pilgrimages. The Basilica of St. Teresa Lisieux. Normandy.

Description:

Teresa of Lisieux is the name of this nun, a saint, one of the four women awarded the title of Teacher of the Church.

This is an honorary title, since 1298 given by the Church to honored theologians. How is it that a young girl under 25 is so revered by the Church Fathers?

A year after the death of Teresa in 1887, the abbess of the monastery published an autobiographical work by Teresa called The Story of One Soul, where Teresa tells in simple language about her path to God. The book was a tremendous success - circulations followed one another, bishops and leading theologians of France expressed their admiration along with ordinary readers. It is believed that this book led more people to faith than many theological works. The History of One Soul has been translated into all major European languages.

In 1907, Pope Pius X called her “the greatest saint of our time.” The pilgrims reached for the place of her burial. Described miracles of healing ... The most famous healing is Edith Piaf, who as a child became blind, but miraculously saw the relics of St. Theresa. On a high hill in the town of Lisieux in Normandy, where St. Teresa rested, a majestic Basilica was built, where people go and go to little Teresa. For healing, consolation, enlightenment.

The trip can be combined with a visit to other interesting cities of Normandy - Deauville, Trouville, Honfleur.
