Aix-en-Provence – the cultural pearl of Provence

Description:

Aix-en-Provence – a city-holiday, the city of arts – embodies the Provençal lifestyle, which is so valued around the world. Elegant, elegant, stylish, it is considered one of the richest in cultural heritage after Paris. This is a real open-air museum - it contains all the achievements of the noble Provence of the 15-18 centuries.

Our tour will be pedestrian, because in Provençal Florence, as the Aix is also called, you need to walk slowly. He demands attention, he captures, he inspires, he invites to dialogue. And generously reveals its beauty.

Lively old boulevards and narrow shady streets surrounded by rich buildings in the Baroque style and classicism, houses of the Provencal nobility with amazing forged balconies and carved doors, secluded squares decorated with beautiful fountains, bribing the coziness of cafe terraces, modern chic boutiques, bright Provençal markets - Aix invariably seduces and involves.

During our walk we will plunge into its light atmosphere of leisurely bohemian life, get acquainted with its significant places - Mirabo Boulevard, old Aix and the "new building" of the 17th century - the Mazarin quarter. We will see the Cathedral of St. Saviour - a real architectural assortment and no less beautiful Church of St. Madeleine and the Church of the Holy Spirit, the City Hall and Albert Square, the famous cafe "Two Guys" and the magnificent fountain "Rotunda".

If you wish, you can visit the Grané Museum and the Tapestry Museum. I will tell you about the most famous residents of this amazing city - Ron Good, Paul Cezanne, Emile Zola. You will learn a lot of facts from the “water” history of Aix, the history of his many bright festivals – music, theater, dance, cinema, poetry, comics. Aix as a cultural gem of Provence really deserves attention.

I invite you to make sure of that.
