Description:
Our tour of Marseille will begin at the port where cruise ships arrive. The port of Marseille is one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean. It stretches for more than 20 kilometers. There are more than 90 million shipments per year. It is the main transport artery for the city and the whole of France.
Departing from the port, we will see a new modern part of the city, where a modern building stands majestically, this is the highest high-rise in the city, the work of the famous architect Zaha Hadit.
After the modern part of the city you can admire one of the main attractions of Marseille Basilica Sainte-Marie-Majeure, built on the site of an ancient church of the V century.
Next, you can see the heart of the Old Port. It was here that the history of Massalia began, as Marseille used to be called. Here the love of the beautiful Gypsys and Protis was born, the legend of their love I will tell you with pleasure.
In the Old Port you can sit in a coastal cafe or restaurant. Try Provençal cuisine and a glass of the famous rose wine.
Or drink a cup of coffee with fragrant croissants freshly baked by local bakers.
The visiting card of Marseille is the famous Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde, which is located on the highest point of the city. There is a fascinating panoramic view of the whole city and surroundings. That's where we're going from the Old Port.
