Museum of Carnival Machines of the Royal de Lux Society

Place Mar Foch, 44,000 Nantes, France

About the company:

The Royal de Lux Museum of Carnival Machines was founded in 1979. Exhibits exhibited in the museum have in the past taken part in street parades and shows not only in France but also in Belgium, England, Germany, Iceland and even Chile, Australia and Mexico.

One of the exhibits is the so-called Sultan’s Elephant. The appearance of this 12-meter mechanical structure on the streets of London in 2006 created a real furor. In this original way, its creator, François Delarozier, decided to celebrate the anniversary of the death of his favorite writer, the master of adventure novels Jules Verne. The Sultan's Elephant is now regarded as the official symbol of the city of Nantes and is also one of the favorite exhibits among tourists. The rest of the exhibits are in no way inferior to the elephant and make a grand impression on visitors.
