Castle Mountain
Le Châ teau, Rue des Ponchettes, 06300 Nice, France
Description:
Castle Mountain took its name from the castle of the XII century, which proudly towered on the top of the hill. Now only ruins remain from the castle, but this does not prevent tourists from visiting this mountain. There is a belief that climbing the mountain is only necessary on foot. Whether it is true or not, walking along shady alleys past Jewish and Protestant cemeteries and an artificial waterfall will bring a lot of impressions. By the way, the famous philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche often liked to climb the Castle Hill.
After reaching the top of the mountain, you can go to several observation decks, from where you can see the Promenade des Anglais, beautiful yachts, sea ferries and buildings of the Old Town. On the mountain for the convenience of tourists built several cafes. These cafes are located in the park and in the charming botanical garden. Here it is best, sitting in a cafe and drinking a glass of wine, to look at Nice in a crimson sunset.
