25 Blvd Carnot, Nice, France

About the company:

The Terra Amata Archaeological Museum is located on the western slope of Mount Boron, 26 meters above sea level, under the open sky. The museum consists of two parts – Terra Amata and Simye.

At the same time, the building is an archaeological monument of the early Paleolithic era (about 400 thousand years ago BC). In 1966, it was discovered by scientist Henri de Lumle. The monument contains evidence of ancient settlements, the manufacture of primitive tools of stone, as well as the use of fire. You can get acquainted with the exhibits and results of scientific research in the part of Terra Amata.

In 1989, the second part of the museum, Simye, was opened to visitors. It is dedicated to antiquity and the early Christian era. Among the exhibits are sarcophagi, statues, jewelry, coins, household items reflecting the culture of the Greek, Italian and Latin civilizations.

The museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00, except Tuesday. Entrance is free. Inspection of the exhibition accompanied by a guide - 5 €.
