Massena Museum
35 Promenade des Anglais, 6000 Nice, France
About the company:
The Massin Museum (Le Mus e Mass na) is located in Nice in the building of a villa that used to belong to Prince Victor d’Esslin. After the death of the prince, his son Andre decided to transfer the villa to the state. But Andre made a condition - the villa should be turned into a museum, which will be accessible to anyone.
Today, the Massena Museum can offer its visitors twenty-three exhibition halls, united by a common theme, a story about the history of Nice from the Middle Ages to 1939. There are more than 15,000 priceless exhibits, including a collection of weapons, paintings by local artists and some artifacts from the personal collection of Napoleon I.
The Massena Museum has been under reconstruction for a long time and was reopened in 2008. Entrance to the museum is free.
