Museum of Modern Art in Nice

Place Yves Klein 06364 Nice, France

About the company:

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Nice conceptually resembles similar galleries of other countries, that is, there are works created since the early 60s of the XX century. The museum, which is abbreviated as MAMAC, was created by famous architects Yves Bayar and Henri Vidal in 1990.

Its unique shape is due to numerous influences, including neoclassical. It is an ultra-modern analogue of the castle of towers connected by passages. The gallery building itself deserves attention: spacious halls, glazed corridors and a roof garden. In addition to the classics of the world avant-garde of the second half of the XX century, the collection presents the works of contemporary artists of Nice, for example, Cesar and Armand. Of particular interest will be the amazing works of Yves Klein - one of the most famous natives of Nice.

Exhibitions at this art museum include works by French and American avant-garde artists from the 1960s. Also in the gallery are exhibited works of world-famous masters of pop art - Huarhol and Aman. The architecture of the museum, which consists of four tall towers of gray marble, connected by suspended bridges, will not leave indifferent. You can walk between the towers indefinitely, as you can see wonderful views of the snow-capped peaks of the Maritime Alps, beaches, bay and Chateau hill, and the coast is visible almost to the Italian border. And if the weather is bad, then you will be covered with glass hanging gardens, where bird trills sound.
