Hotel Negresco, located on the French Cote d'Azur in Nice, is considered one of the best hotels in the world. It was built in 1912 by the project of Eduard Niermans - one of the most famous architects of the early XX century. The customer was the Romanian Henry Negresco, the director of the city casino, after which he was named.
The hotel opened its doors in 1913 and has been attracting tourists from all over the world for 100 years. Stayed in Negresco such celebrities as artist Salvador Dali, singer Elton John, members of the Beatles. The uniqueness of this hotel lies in its architecture and interior decoration. A magnificent six-storey Renaissance palace with a huge pink dome stands out from the rest of the city. The interiors of the 145 rooms of the hotel are decorated in different styles - from the style of the times of Louis XIII to the style of art deco.
The hotel also houses one of Nice’s finest restaurants, Chantecler, an English-style bar, Le Relais, and nine luxuriously decorated reception rooms for up to 600 people.
