Flower Park, 6 km from Orleans, France
Description:
Flower Park is located near Orleans. It appeared here in 1963 according to the plan of architect Louis Aretch, and in 2000 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The park stretches over an area of 35 hectares, it consists of several zones in which plant, animal and mineral worlds peacefully coexist with each other.
The garden is divided into several flower gardens. Here melt irises, roses, dahlias, various exotic flowers. There are more than 1000 varieties of irises, about 200 varieties of dahlia, 78 types of fuchsia, as well as a huge rose garden, a stone garden, a garden with meadow grasses and a garden with a spring that can be recognized by the foggy haze standing by the water.
The peculiar zoo contains 350 species of animals and 67 species of birds: donkeys, alpacas, goats, sheep, peacocks, ducks, flamingos, guinea pigs and many others. The main difference from a traditional zoo is that in the garden the animals live in their natural environment, so they feel at ease and relaxed. In a greenhouse with a humidity of 80% and a constant temperature of up to 30 ° C, in tropical conditions, thousands of colorful butterflies flutter.
In order to slowly walk around the park and enjoy its beauty, you need a whole day. Work hours and schedule of events can be found on the website. The park is open all year round except December 24-25, December 31 and January 1.
