Excursion to Giverny. Claude Monet's House and Garden
Description:
On the way from Paris to the beaches of Normandy is Giverny, famous thanks to Claude Monet. Here is the house of the famous Impressionist artist, as well as a garden with a pond, where he painted his “lilies”. Monet lived here forty-three years, until his death in 1926. Having settled in Giverny, Claude Monet acquires a plot of land there, and, taking the waters of the Eptha River there, arranges a garden with ponds. The second garden is divided in front of the house, and the strict straight lines of alleys contrast with the colorful carpet of flower beds that change several times a year. The garden became Monet’s favorite brainchild, and it is not surprising that its motifs occupy a large place in the artist’s work.
One of the most beautiful excursions. A flowering garden, pink lilies on the water, a cozy house of the artist.
And the village Giverny turned its inhabitants into a picturesque place. You can have lunch in the restaurant where Monet used to spend time with his friends, there is also a beautiful garden with arbors.
The trip can be combined with an excursion to Rouen or Versailles.
