Christian shrines of Paris
Description:
In a few hours we will visit several holy places of common Christian value.
In Notre Dame Cathedral we will worship the Crown of Thorns of Jesus Christ. It has been in Parge since 1239. Its history is well known and there is no doubt about its authenticity.
In the temple of St-Leu-St-Gilles are the relics of the Holy Equilateral Queen Helena. The mother of the first in the history of the Roman Christian emperor Constantine the Great restored in Palestine the holy places denounced by the pagans associated with the earthly life of the Savior. Moreover, Queen Helena found the Cross on Calvary, on which the Lord accepted the death of the cross. The relics are in the crypt, where Orthodox services are held.
- We will visit the grand temple of Mary Magdalena to touch the relic with part of the relics of Mary Magdalena.
This Christian saint, myrrh-bearer, according to the Gospel text, followed Christ, was present at the Crucifixion and witnessed his posthumous appearance.
To see the seamless Heaton of Jesus Christ, we will go to the small suburban town of Argenta. Once here the chiton was brought by Charlemagne for storage in the monastery. The abbot was the king's daughter. There was a time when this town was a place of mass religious pilgrimage. Sadly, the results of godless revolutions have thrown away the memory and driven the country into religious indifference. Now Orthodox pilgrims are most often sent to this town.
There is another place that attracts Orthodox, especially Muscovites. The Orthodox Church of the Three Saints. People are attracted here by an ancient, prayerful icon of the Iverian Mother of God. Intercessor of Moscow, taken from Moscow during the war with Napoleon and miraculously found in Paris in 1930.
Now the Iverian-Paris Icon of the Mother of God meets everyone entering the temple of the Triple Compound. It is impossible to take your eyes off her... Over the decades, many miracles have been revealed.
