Holy Trinity Church
Description:
Church of the Holy Trinity, Saint-Trinite (French) É glise de la Sainte-Trinit is a Catholic church in the ninth arrondissement of Paris. The facade of the church crowns the perspective of the Highway d’Antin. The name of the church is called the nearby metro station Trinit.
The construction of the church began during a period of massive redevelopment work in Paris, in 1861, seven years later the basilica opened its doors to the faithful.
The author of the project in the neo-Renaissance style was Theodore Ball, who managed to invest in a very modest budget - only 4 million francs, while the facade of the church and the interior decoration is richly decorated. For example, the main nave is painted with unusual frescoes imitating ancient mosaics. Also, visiting St. Trinite, you can admire the stained glass windows that have been preserved since the XIX century.
On the territory of the temple, a cozy square with many shops was broken, on the site of which until the construction of the church there was a restaurant known throughout Paris.
The length of the church is 90 meters, width is 34 and height is 30 meters. In general, the architecture of the temple emphasizes the idea of Trinity: the facade is divided into three parts, a bell tower rises above the central part of the high tower, its height reaches 65 meters.
Two years after the completion of construction, an organ created by Aristide Cavaye-Coll appeared in the Church of the Holy Trinity.
