Alexander III Bridge
Seventh arrondissement of Paris
Description:
The bridge was laid as a sign of friendship between the Russian Empire and France, and was named after the Russian Emperor Alexander III. This bridge, according to many, is the most elegant in Paris. This is what you see on most postcards related to Paris.
The decorative decoration of the bridge, with figures of pegasus, nymphs and angels, is a vivid example of the Boz-ar style. On the sides of the entrance to the bridge tower 17-meter lampposts, above which soar bronze figures symbolizing Agriculture, Art, War and Battle. In the center of the bridge arches are the nymph of the Seine with the coat of arms of France and the nymph of the Neva with the coat of arms of imperial Russia, both made of copper.
