Monument to Charles de Gaulle

Place Clemenceau, Paris, France

Description:

The monument to Charles de Gaulle, the great French figure and general, is installed on the Champs-Elysees in Paris. Not far from the Grand Palais, the first president of the Fifth Republic is captured walking confidently and looking proudly into the distance.

The date of installation of the monument was timed to the thirtieth anniversary of his death in 2000. The sculpture is 6 meters high created by Jacques Cardo. The great figure is captured at the time of the parade in 1944.

The French call the site of the monument, located between the Alexander III Bridge and the Champs Elysees, "Three walking men." Not far from each other are monuments to Georges Clemenceau and Winston Churchill.
