Monument to Thomas Jefferson

Seventh arrondissement of Paris, opposite the Palace of the Legion of Honor, France

Description:

The Thomas Jefferson Monument is a beautiful bronze statue depicting the prominent US politician and former US ambassador to France, Thomas Jefferson. The monument is located in the seventh arrondissement of Paris, in a picturesque place on the banks of the Seine.

The Thomas Jefferson Monument was erected in 2006 to commemorate the 230th anniversary of the declaration of US independence. The statue was created by French sculptor Jean Cardo. The monument is not particularly monumental - the statue has a height of slightly more than three meters, and it is installed on a half-meter granite pedestal. The founding father is pictured with a feather pen in his right hand, and in his left he holds a piece of paper.

In general, the monument to Thomas Jefferson is a small but very pleasant decoration of the Paris waterfront. The statue is meant to symbolize the friendship between the United States and France, and it has successfully done so.
