St. Honore Street
Description:
St. Honore Street is full of art galleries, antique shops and public institutions. Here is the residence of the President of France and the Ministry of the Interior. The street is named after Saint Honore, who was a bishop in the sixth century. Bakers consider him their patron, because the street was named after him by the famous pastry chef Shibust, whose shop was built here.
On this street is the house of Molière, and in the house number 15 you can visit the salon of Jeanne Lanvien. The twentieth house used to be the center of culture of Russian emigration, it was visited by F. Chaliapin, G. Pyatigorsky, S. Diaghilev and others. Nearby is the mansion of Princess de Rogan-Montbazon, where the fashion house Coco Chanel is now located. On the same street is the salon of Yves Saint Laurent, the legislator of French fashion.
