Juchett Street
Rue de la Huchette, Paris, France
Description:
Yuchett Street has been named for 700 years, now it is mainly Greek restaurants, whose owners invite tourists with facial expressions, then real theatrical gestures from the doors and windows of their institutions.
On the street there is the Youchette Theatre, which for 50 years has been showing the famous play "Bald Singer" by Eugene Ionesco. In the house number 5 is the oldest jazz club in the capital, where Boris Vian played his trombone. From Rue Juchett there are narrow branching streets to the embankment of the Seine, which give an idea of what Paris looked like in the Middle Ages, when these places were infamous. Not far from Rue Juchette is the beautiful church of Saint-Severin, one of the brightest examples of Gothic in Paris. Organ music concerts are held here.
