Castle Vaux-les-Vicomte

Châ teau Vaux le Vicomte, 77950 Maincy, France

Description:

The castle of Vaux-les-Vicomte is one of the brightest examples of French classical architecture of the XVII century. The palace is located on an island surrounded by a moat, and with the rest of the garden it is connected by a drawbridge. The architectural appearance of the Vaux-les-Vicomte Palace is dominated by the architectural principles of classicism, although some traditional elements of French architecture are preserved.

The castle has three floors. On the wide stairs of the ceremonial courtyard, guests of the castle enter the solemn entrance hall. Then you can go to the high and oval hall - the Grand Salon, which is adjacent to the royal bedroom with luxurious decoration. In a number of rooms of the first floor you can see wax figures - images of Nicolas Fouquet, the king and courtiers. The second floor rooms look more modest. The ground floor is occupied by a kitchen, pantry, wine cellars and other office spaces. The park is an integral part of the palace. Perfectly trimmed short shrub intricately distinguishes alleys of the palace of Vault-les-Vicomte, each of which has a unique appearance. In the evening, the lights were turned on, and the park took a truly fantastic view. And still the castle of Vaux-les-Vicomte fascinates with its unique beauty.
