Maillol Museum
61 rue de Grenelle, Paris, France
About the company:
The Maillol Museum in Paris is an amazing collection of works of art. The museum is named after the French artist and sculptor Aristide Mayol. In the collection of the museum you will see both his works and other famous cultural figures - Rodin, Kandinsky, Picasso, Matisso, Degas, Cezanne, Ingras. With many of them, Mayol maintained friendly relations for many years.
Mayol began sculpture at the age of forty. The first exhibition of his work was admired by Rodin. He even gave a kind of spiritual blessing to an aspiring colleague.
Mayol sculpted women, calm and strong, simple and natural. Among his models was Dina Verni from Chisinau. When Dina met Mayol, she was 15 and he was 73. He bequeathed to her all his fortune. Part of the sculptures of Dean donated to France. She also established a charitable foundation and the Mayol Museum.
