About the company:

The Museum of Fashion and Costume of the City of Paris is also known as the Galliera Museum. The museum began its work in 1977.

The Fashion Museum is located in a palace built in the XIX century for the Duchess of Galliera. The architecture of the building is made in the Renaissance style: the palace is built of hewn stone, reinforced with a steel frame. Mosaic floors and majestic domes look very harmonious, the facade is decorated with statues and paintings. There is a beautiful fountain in front of the museum.

The Galliera Museum reveals the secrets of fashion, covering the period from the XVIII century to the present. The museum has two exhibitions: thematic and monographic. More than 70 thousand items are grouped according to the following principle:

Costumes (from XVIII to the present) that belonged to Sonia Delaunay, Christian Dior, Audrey Helburne, Paco Rabanne, Marino Fortuni, Empress Josephine and others

- Underwear is represented by corsets, crinoline

Accessories, including gloves, umbrellas, scarves, jewelry.

The monograph exhibition introduces fashion connoisseurs to photos, stamps, sketches and, of course, advertising.

Currently, the museum is closed for reconstruction, but they plan to please guests in the fall of 2013.
