About the company:

One of the oldest museums in Paris is the Museum of Coins, Medals and Antiquities. It is located on the back wing of the National Library of France, on the Rue Richelieu. The Cabinet de M dailles is a museum of international importance.

The collections of the museum include various ancient coins, engraved gems, antiques, "mined" from the treasuries of the kings of France during the Middle Ages.

The predecessor of the museum, the cabinet, appeared thanks to Charles IX. He entrusted a collection of antiques, antique coins and medals to make them a national treasure. The archaeologist Comte de Kelus added antiques to the cabinet collection. Following suit, the collector Duke de Luynes donated his ancient collection of Greek coins to the Imperial Cabinet in 1862. This act has brought great benefits, and the collection has acquired the status of national, not just imperial. The state is also engaged in replenishment of the museum, in 1846 the Gourdon gold treasures were added.

In the museum you can get acquainted with the methods of manufacturing the exhibited objects – casting of bronze and precious metals.
