Museum on Branley Quay

Quai Branly, 75007 Paris, France

About the company:

The museum on Branly Quay was opened not so long ago – in 2006. But already managed to gain popularity among tourists from all over the world. And it is not surprising, because its very appearance causes genuine interest - from above it looks like a spacecraft that is supported by 10-meter supports, and from the front facing the river appear cubic volumes of small exhibition rooms painted in bright colors. The back facade is covered with imitation of rust and blinds. The end wall is more like a vertical garden than the supporting structure of the building.

The author of such a bold architectural project was Jean Nouvel, his third museum in Paris. And the museum on the embankment opened thanks to the efforts of former French President Jean Chirac.

The museum contains more than 300,000 exhibits of the so-called "primitive" art of Africa, Asia, Oceania and America. The exhibition is intended to serve as a humanistic appeal for respect for diversity and dialogue of cultures.
