Museum of Veera

2, boulevard de Strasbourg, Paris, France

About the company:

There is a very interesting museum in Paris - the Museum of Veer, founded in 1993. It is located in an apartment of one of the houses on Strasbourg Boulevard. From history it is known that fans were very popular in France, starting from the second half of the XVII century. Each socialite had several dozen of them, as they say for all occasions. In the XIX century, the manufacture of this accessory became a whole industry.

The owner of the Veera apartment-museum Anne Hoguet is the last representative of the family fan business, which was started in 1872 by her ancestor Joseph Hoguet. It was in this apartment that he opened an atelier-workshop, in which Madame Hoguet still continues to create fans mainly for film studios. The exhibition is located in another room. The interior of this room is preserved in the style of the era of Henry II - chic chandeliers, antique furniture made of walnut, the walls are covered with a dark blue fabric with embroidered gold lilies, a fireplace, etc.

Unique, fascinating, exquisite exhibits of the Museum of Veera (about 1000), you can admire and admire for a long time. It is no coincidence that a beautiful fan has always been considered an indispensable attribute of female coquetry.
