Museum of Military Medical Service

1, Place Alphonse Laveran, Paris, France

About the company:

The museum is located in an old building with rich architecture. Val de Grass was originally a monastery built by decree of Louis XIII for his wife Anne of Austria. The beautiful building was a gift to her for giving birth to the heir Louis I. Later, she asked the architect François Mansard to build a church.

During the French Revolution, the nuns of Val de Grasse provided medical care to all the wounded and injured in the monastery. So the church turned into a military hospital, and a little later the building was added to the building and opened a military medical school, which works to this day.

In 2003, in another building attached to the Val de Grasse, a museum of military medical care was opened, which introduces visitors to the history of France in the field of health care. Trained guides will tell you a lot about military psychiatry, aerospace medicine, hygiene and the prevention of infectious diseases during military operations.
