Museum of Joan of Arc

33 place du Vieux Marche, Rouen 76000, France

About the company:

Normandy is closely associated with the name of Joan of Arc, because it was here that she was kept in the tower of the old castle, which has survived to our time, tried and then burned at the stake. After World War II, a cathedral was erected on View Marche Square, its roof made in the form of a fire, which reminds of the execution of the heroine. Near it is a museum dedicated to a great woman.

The museum is dedicated to the life and death of Joan of Arc. It includes engravings, paintings, ammunition and weapons of that era. The museum also has a wonderful gallery of wax figures that reflect the life of the heroine, starting from her childhood in Domremi and ending with her arrival in Rouen.

The attention of tourists is attracted by ancient models, lithographs and restored models of flags and armor of that era, located at the entrance to the museum. Guests are offered an audio guide in 4 languages, but unfortunately there is no Russian in it. Be sure to visit the city of Rouen, which is saturated with historical events, and mentally transport to the Middle Ages.
