Bagatel Park
Description:
Bagatel Park is located in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. The park is named after a small palace on its territory, which was built in 1775 by the brother of King Louis XVI - Count D'Artois, due to a dispute with his sister-in-law Marie Antoinette. The dispute was that the count promised to correct the deplorable condition of the castle in just 2 months. He won the bet solely because 900 workers worked day and night. This crazy act cost about two million liras.
Today, Bagatel is a park adored by Parisians. The city hall periodically holds concerts and exhibitions on the cultural life of Paris. There is also an international rose contest every year.
