Saint-Michel Church

nkembo district, Libreville, Gabon

Description:

Saint-Michel Church is the main attraction of the capital of Gabon – Libreville, it is located in the densely populated area of Nkembo. The Catholic Church is amazing for its architecture, not like the usual temple. The church is built of wood and its roof is supported by 31 mahogany columns. These columns are notable for the fact that they are carved biblical stories that were made by a blind master.

In addition, visitors to the temple celebrate the performances of the church choir, which uses folk musical instruments, which gives the worship a special African flavor.
