Presidential Palace

Gabon, Libreville

Description:

The Presidential Palace in Libreville, Gabon’s capital, is the dominant complex of buildings that rises on the city’s low-lying landscapes. It was built in the seventies of the last century by former President of Gabon Omar Bongo, who was at the helm of power for almost 42 years, which is a record among countries that are not monarchies. He was known for his profligacy and corruption. Construction cost the country $800 million, the complex is so large that it can be seen from different sides of the capital.

The entrance to the presidential palace is closed, so be careful, even when you come close to it to take a photo.
