Macaya National Park

Pic Macaya National Park, Grand'Anse, Haiti

Description:

Macaya Park is recognized as the best national reserve in Haiti. Stretching along the mountain of the same name, the park offers its guests to plunge into an exciting journey that can stretch all day.

Due to the climatic features, a unique flora and fauna was formed inside the park. Here, in the middle of lush tropical forests and picturesque gorges, you can meet wild flamingos, exotic agouti and even mongoose. Mongooses were in the park of Macaya for good reason - a few decades ago they were brought to these places specifically to fight rodents.

Particular attention should be paid to the salt lake Ethan-Sumatra, where several species of crocodiles live.
