Fountain of Elisenbrunnen
Elisenbrunnen, 52062 Aachen, Germany
Description:
The Elisenbrunnen Fountain is the main fountain in the most luxurious bath of the magnificent thermal complex of the same name, which was built at the beginning of the last century.
The thermal water beats from the fountain, as the complex is built on the thermal Imperial spring. The Elisenbrunnen Fountain was once visited by such historical figures as Peter I, Frederick the Great and others, which is reflected on memorial plaques in the walls of the fountain.
During the Second World War, the entire thermal complex, along with a luxurious fountain, was destroyed, but in the middle of the last century it was restored in almost original form.
Behind the building is a beautiful park, which, like the fountain and the whole complex, is named after the daughter of King Maximilian I, Princess Eliza. Today, in addition to healing procedures, you can visit exhibitions and dance evening tango.
