About the company:

The City Museum of Trier in the Monastery of St. Simeon is located in the city of Trier, next to the gates of Porta Nigra. The exhibits of the museum, located on an area of about 1000 square meters, reflect the life of the city of Trier from the Middle Ages to the present day. The museum began its existence after in 1830 it was presented with a collection of paintings, sculptures, porcelain and ceramics. Subsequently, the collection was replenished by citizens who brought weapons and various household items here.

Particularly noteworthy is the layout of the city, which demonstrates what the city was like in 1800, as well as the original stone cross, which stands on the market square since the tenth century and is a medieval symbol of the city. It is impossible to ignore the collections of textiles of the III - IX centuries, as well as lighting devices and paintings of the Renaissance.

In the late XX - early XXI centuries, after the reconstruction of the building, the area of the museum was expanded, in addition, such innovations as multimedia presentations and audio guides appeared. The museum also began to hold exhibitions dedicated to the history of the city.
