Zibentishanlagen Park
Professor-Steinbacher-Strase, Augsburg, Germany
Description:
Zibentishanlagen Park is a unique landscape park in Augsburg, which is located in Bavaria. The idea to establish such a territory arose at the end of the XIX century. The total area of the park is 27 hectares, and the dimensions are 250 meters wide and 1.5 kilometers long. Ludwig Leybold began working on the territory in 1870. Industrialization greatly displaced green spaces, and they had to be restored. In 1874, Carl von Effner began planning for the park.
In the 50s of the XX century, sports grounds and play areas were made, and new green spaces were planted. The most serious intervention in the landscape of the park is the creation of mini golf courses here, this happened in 1967.
In 1908, a fountain was built on the south side of Zibentishanlagen in memory of Baron Edmund von Schaezler, who took part in the expansion of the park.
