Swabian Museum of Crafts

Beim Rabenbad 6, 86150 Augsburg, Germany

About the company:

The Swiss Museum of Crafts, located in the German city of Augsburg, was opened in 1985 in a building built in the XVIII century, and is part of the historical ensemble of the city. The museum was opened on the 2000th anniversary of Ausburg. Exhibits of the museum were collected from all over Swabia, the historical region of Germany.

The museum’s 250-square-meter area displays a setting typical of workshops common in Swabia, some of which are now considered lost. The barber, bakery, workshops of the shoemaker, watchmaker, carpenter, bookbinder with original equipment and tools are reproduced in the museum in exact details. Part of the museum exposition is devoted to emblems, coats of arms, documents of craft shops that once existed in Augsburg.
