Baden-Baden

Baden-Baden and Heidelberg

Description:

During our tour we will visit two cities that are very different from each other.

Baden-Baden is an elite resort of the 19th century. A city without the upper limits of luxury and wealth. The city, built on the foundations of a Roman thermal resort, turned into summer Paris in the 19th century. Not only the richest people of that time stayed here, but this city was also the cultural capital. Turgenev and Polina Viardot, Clara Schumann and Brahms. Brilliant and dramatic stories. The casino in which Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Princess Gagarina played.

After a walk in Baden-Baden, we move to Heidelberg. It's an old university town. The first university in Germany. Medieval streets, cafes, live music everywhere. The ruins of the castle rise above the city. It is called the most romantic ruins of Europe. We will see the world’s largest barrel of wine and enjoy a panorama of the city from the height of the castle. Heidelberg is considered the cradle of Russian natural science: Pirogov, Mendeleev, Botkin, Borodin and many others lived and worked here.
